Six months of nonsense. Aug 09, 2010 I've owned this scale for about 6 months, and barely used it until about a month ago. I very quickly realized what other people have pointed out- it weighs differently every time. It took me a while to figure out that to get the best reading, I would have to have it sit on a single tile on my bathroom floor, then to stand straight looking ahead, with my feet in the center every time. And even then, I would get different weights every time I stood on it- if it were just within a pound, I wouldn't mind- but I get fluctuations of up to 10-15 pounds! I began to chart my weight as best I could, and did find that as I lost weight, the fluctuation would move lower and lower. But to have to jump through such hoops for a scale is ridiculous. I don't know if it is because it is digital or not- it is my first. I am not on Weight Watchers or anything, so I don't care about brand name or anything. I just wanted a cheap bathroom scale. But this is a ridiculously terrible piece of crap. To top it all off, last night I tried it out and the screen suddenly flashed ERROR and now it doesn't work. Is it a battery problem? I have no idea. But I think I'd rather spend the money on a new scale rather than invest in a new coin battery and keep using this junk. Please please please believe me- buy something else, you'll be glad that you did.
bad product. Jul 25, 2010 I used my WW scale for a few months and know it reads RON. What is that?? I can't get it to work even changed out the battery. I got it at Target.
Update on "Better readings from a Magic 8 Ball" Jun 27, 2010 Update: I replaced the Weight Watcher's scale the highly regarded $54 Tanita scale. Surprisingly, it gives the same initial reading as the el cheapo Weight Watchers scale. Neither scale can discriminate incremental weight change when I step back on the scale with a 1, 2, or 3 pound workout weight but the Tanita is considerably less inaccurate for this test. All said, I feel better relying on the Tanita.
This thing is driving me nuts. Once it anchors a reading it won't budge from that number regardless of drinking 16 oz. of water (1 lb) or the reverse. I tried measuring its accuracy with a 10 lb plate in my arms. It was off by .2 lbs. That translates into an error of 2 lb per hundred pound of body weight. That's pretty much useless for self-motivation. With a 25 lb plat in my arms, it was off by .6 lbs or 2.4 lbs per 100 lbs. of body weight. Maybe I should get one of those carnival machines.
Died soon after purchase. Jun 22, 2010 Died soon after purchase. Thought it was the battery. Went to replace it, and nothing.
$30 item. Is it worth my time an energy to chase down the mfgr for a warranty?
Nope. Just time and money wasted. I will just buy another scale and hope it works. That's the unfortunately consumer experience, these days.

inconsistent readings Jun 04, 2010 I'm happy with the look and size of this scale and also that it can be stored vertically in a small space BUT, even after checking that it is level on the floor (all corners anchored, tile floor)I can get on it six times in a row and get six different waeights - sometimes several pounds apart from each other - recently as much as FIVE! When I am recording my weight I take the middle weight out of 5 - which I think is really ridiculous to have to do!
